Looking for Syracuse events in April? We need your help!
With the brutally cold and seemingly never-ending winter weather we’ve had, perhaps the topic of Spring sounds like something that should be very far away still. However, the calendar does say March, and we even “spring” our clocks ahead an hour this weekend! Maybe if we all join in some spring-like activities we can push this season along a little?
One very common Spring theme is cleaning! If you are someone that looks forward to saying goodbye to winter and gearing up for better weather with some cleaning and organizing , we’d like to encourage you to dig into your closet and see what is hanging out in there that you might not really wear or need anymore.
Contemporary Personnel Staffing and Professionals Incorporated are partnering with the Women’s Opportunity Center in Syracuse to hold the third annual “Second Chance Clothing Drive” to collect professional women’s clothing. Our tagline for this drive is “give your clothing a second chance to make a first impression”. Your unwanted new or gently used clothing and accessories could make a huge difference in another woman’s life.
The Women’s Opportunity Center provides training to help women re-enter the workforce. This training consists of basic office training, computer skills, resume and cover letter preparation, and interview skills. One of the most important parts of the interview is making the proper first impression by being clothed appropriately. It is no secret to anyone that feeling good about the way you look helps you project that poise that is so critical in an interview. The WOC is seeking your donation of skirt suits, pant suits, blouses, shoes, and accessories to help their clientele dress confidently for their interviews and get their second chance at having a great career.
We will be collecting clothing from April 1st through April 15th to deliver to this very worthy cause. We will also be onsite and collecting donations at the WISE Symposium taking place on April 8th at the OnCenter.
Please contact Suzanne Benderski at 315-457-2500 or sbenderski@cpsprofessionals.com to make arrangements to drop off items to donate. If your company or organization would like to join us in this effort, we can make arrangements to pick up donations as well. Tax deduction receipts can be provided.
Won’t you take a few minutes and see if you have extra items in your closet that you could spare for someone else’s second chance?
