Tracy Driscoll and I are both Board Members of McMahon Ryan Child Advocacy Center, a non-profit organization serving almost 700 children and families each year in Onondaga County that are victims of sexual and severe physical abuse.  Their mission is a dedication to ending child abuse in our community, through prevention, intervention, and education by facilitating a coordinated multidisciplinary team approach, meeting the needs of children and families.

Child abuse can happen anywhere, in any neighborhood.  It is possible that we all know someone who have been effected by this and who could have benefited from the services provided by McMahon Ryan. One in every ten children will experience sexual abuse by their 18th Birthday.

The Third Annual “Kickoff for Kids” is being held on Friday, October 2 at the SRC Arena. This is a casual, “tailgating” themed event with music, food and fun. Please consider supporting this cause by being a sponsor and/or placing an ad.  Attached are possible involvement opportunities.

Your participation helps to ensure that McMahon/Ryan Child Advocacy Center continues to achieve its mission of supporting children who have been sexually and/or physically abused through a safe, child-friendly process.  In 2014 over 600 sexually abused children came through our doors and your support will help us advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in Onondaga County.
