Spring Cleaning and Second Chances

After an unseasonably warm March and a disappointingly chilly April, May is here and spring seems to have finally gotten here as well.  What does the arrival of spring mean to you?  Is it time for baseball or golf? Maybe you like to plant your garden and flowers?  Many people also choose this time of year to do some spring cleaning.  If you are one of those people, I’d like to encourage you to dig into your closet and see what is hanging out in there that you don’t really need anymore.

CPS and Professionals Incorporated are partnering with the Women’s Opportunity Center in Syracuse to hold our first “Second Chance Clothing Drive” to collect professional women’s clothing.  Our tagline for this drive is “give your clothing a second chance to make a first impression”.  Your unwanted new or gently used clothing could make a huge difference in another woman’s life.

The Women’s Opportunity Center provides training to help women re-enter the workforce.  This training consists of basic office training, computer skills, resume and cover letter preparation, and interview skills.  One of the most important parts of the interview is making the proper first impression by being clothed appropriately.  It is no secret to anyone that feeling good about the way you look helps you project that poise that is so critical in an interview.  The WOC is seeking your donation of skirt suits, pant suits, blouses, shoes, and accessories to help their clientele dress confidently for their interviews and get their second chance at having a great career.

We will be collecting clothing from May 7th through May 18th to deliver to this very worthy cause.  Won’t you take a few minutes and see if you have extra items in your closet that you could spare for someone else’s second chance?

If you would like to coordinate a pick-up or drop-off of clothing items, or would like to partner with us in this effort, please contact Suzanne at sbenderski@cpsprofessionals.com or 315-457-2500.
